It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Our Holiday Session began last week and we have so many exciting and wonderful opportunities for our members and their families this month. This session will conclude on the 18th of December, as members will be out of school for Winter Break. Please be sure to check our monthly program calendar for the dates that we will be open over this break. As a reminder, we have adjusted our out of school hours to better serve our working families. Out of school Club hours are 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. For this session will be planning and participating in a lot of activities off campus, throughout the community. Our Inclement Weather Policy is: If Tipton Community Schools are cancelled, our Club will be closed for the day. If they dismiss early, as long as lunch has been served, our Club will be open. On days where there is a 2-hour delay, our Club will operate under normal Club hours. Please be sure to check out the information table, and check our Facebook page to stay up on the most current announcements.

We’d like to welcome to our staff, Sammy Plake. Sammy has been a part of our High School Volunteer Program and when we needed to add an additional staff member, it was a no-brainer! Sammy is a junior at Tipton High School. She will be an excellent addition to our staff. Please be sure to give her a warm welcome! All staff members and volunteers should be easily identifiable by their lanyards and name tags. Please don’t ever hesitate to ask them for assistance.

The Holiday Session Classes and Programs calendar is now available and will be sent via email. We have printed a few hard copies and they are available at the Information Station as you enter the Club. Our Karoling Kids” have been working diligently on their Christmas songs and will be recording their Christmas album very soon. Copies of the cd will be on sale for $5.00 at the front desk. These members will also be going out into the community to carol, and spread some holiday cheer. Original Youngsters will be performing at the Community & Business Leaders Holiday Reception on Thursday, December 4th at 4:00. They will have a performance for all Club members, family, and friends on Friday, December 12th at 5:30. Our Candle Club will also be performing their play on this evening. On Monday, December 15th, Candle Club will head to Miller’s Merry Manor to perform their Christmas play for the residents. Our Torch Club will be sponsoring a club-wide, boys versus girls canned food drive starting Monday, December 1st. The canned goods will be donated to local food pantries. We will be having a special guest on December 3rd at 4:00 p.m. Former Tipton school teacher and author Paulette Hoover will be joining us to read one of books. She will have order forms available to order books, if you choose to do so. Don’t forget, our Classes and Programs generally run from 4-5 p.m., so feel free to run your errands after work and leave your member at the Club so that they can participate in the holiday programs.

We are smack dab in the middle of our Basketball and Cheerleading season. We’ve seen some great progress in skills, and we hope that all members and their families are enjoying the experience. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our Family Fun Night for each league as well as our final game and Award Night. These nights are listed on the schedule, which you can find at the information station

Teen Tuesdays will continue throughout the month of December. We invite all members 6th grade or older to stay until 7:30 p.m. each Tuesday of the month. Starting Tuesday, January 6th, we will extend our invitation to all 5th grade members to stay for our Teen Tuesdays. The Teen Scene outing for December will be Friday, December 12th from 6-11 pm. Our teen members will be traveling to The Arctic Zone Ice Plex in Westfield. They will be Ice Skating during Cosmic Skate Hours. Members interested in attending this trip will need to be signed up by a parent or guardian. It is a first come, first served trip, as we can only transport 13 members in the van. We ask that those attending bring $5.00 for dinner, and we will cover the remainder of the cost for the evening.

This Holiday Season we will be hanging stockings for our staff members. If you feel so inclined, we welcome you and your members to drop a card, or note of appreciation in the staff members stockings. We work hard on a daily basis to provide a safe, entertaining, and nurturing environment for our members. We care so deeply for each of our members, and we are grateful for the time and influence that we get to have in their lives. We count it a blessing to live in such a wonderful, supportive, and giving community. As a staff we would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas & a Happy 2015!
